Wal-Mart Canada and GE Consumer Finance announced yesterday that they will create a private label credit card program for Canada's Wal-Mart and Sam's Club units.
Reuters notes that this is the not the first time Wal-Mart and GE have teamed up; they've previously worked together in Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico.
According to the announcement, GE will provide marketing, risk management, customer and collections services to Wal-Mart.
The announcement comes as Wal-Mart has unveiled plans to open as many as 30 new stores in Canada next year - 20 mainline stores, and between 10 and 15 Sam's Club units.
