In honor of our forthcoming trip to the Pacific Northwest (we'll be reporting MNB from there for a good part of next week), we'd like to recommend a terrific red wine from the Columbia valley in Washington State: a Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc blend from the J. Bookwalter Winery. Especially with a thick steak or nice juicy burger, this wine has a nice spiciness that we think you'll enjoy.
