Reuters reports that attorneys that have filed a lawsuit charging McDonald's with contributing to the nation's high level of obesity (and specifically the overweight condition of their clients) have dropped the component of the complaint that said the fast feeder's customers didn't know that the food was bad for them. Instead, the lawyers said that they would focus on the issue of false advertising claims by the company.

McDonald's responded by asking the judge to toss the case out completely.

The judge took the request under consideration.
