Yesterday, in a couple of different spots, we wrote about companies that compete with Wal-Mart successfully and referred to HEB as a "local brand." In one place we wrote about HEB and Ukrops, "They may be smaller than one of the top ten chains, but they are big in terms of imagination and innovation…"
Well, MNB user Phil Smith of TDLinx quite correctly wrote in to point out that HEB is #9 in the list of the nation's top 10 food retailers.
Which is absolutely true, and we apologize to HEB for the misstatement.
However, we still think that HEB doesn't act like a top 10 company…which is high praise.
