The big winner in the settlement of the debit card antitrust case that was settled by Visa and MasterCard last week for a combined $3 billion should be Wal-Mart, according to a Reuters story.
While the specifics of the payout won’t be known until this summer, the bulk of the payout, less attorneys fees, should go to Wal-Mart Stores because it paid the largest percentage of debit card fees to the charge card companies.
