Joseph Coors, , whose grandfather founded Adolph Coors Co. in 1873 and who used his fortune to support President Reagan and help create the conservative Heritage Foundation, died of lymphatic cancer over the weekend. He was 85.
He retired as chief operating officer at Golden-based Adolph Coors in 1988 and remained a director until three years ago. His brother, Bill Coors, serves as vice chairman for Adolph Coors while his son, Peter Coors, is the current chairman.
