- ConAgra Foods has signed a deal with former boxer George Foreman to create and promote a line of meats that can be cooked on the George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machines. The goal is to tie the two product lines together via cookbooks, infomercials, and in-store promotions; terms of the deal were not disclosed.
- Published reports say that Puerto Rico’s government has decided to permit
Wal-Mart Stores to purchase 32 stores from Supermercado Amigo there. The government previously had tried to block the acquisition.
- The New York Times reports that the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has signed a deal with the Coca-Cola Foundation, that will allow the soft drink manufacturer to distribute the academy's education messages. However, questions are being raised as to whether an alliance between a soft drink manufacturer and a group of dentists is entirely proper.
