Three more companies have announced that they will begin selling irradiated beef that has been processed by SureBeam Corp., following on the heels of numerous other companies that have made the same decision.
The chains are: Safeway’s eastern division, Weis Markets, and Associated Wholesalers, a Pennsylvania coop with 800 independent members.

This trend has been remarkable, considering that 18 months ago “irradiation” was considered a dirty word.
There are lessons here for other issues that conventional thinking believes are untouchable, but may just require the right touch.
