business news in context, analysis with attitude

Yesterday, in the context of a commentary, we wrote: of two favorite and very similar quotes:

“The function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.”

And:

"I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."

Who said them?

The first was spoken by Jack London. (Which most people got.)

The second was written by Ian Fleming. (Which fewer people knew.)

Congrats to all entrants…the t-shirt is on the way to the winner.
