The acquisition of New Jersey’s Kings Super Markets by D'Agostino Supermarkets still has not been finalized, almost five months after a deal was reached. November 30 is the date by which it must be completed, or the deal is off, according to CEO Nick D'Agostino.

Specifics about the problems in the negotiations have not been revealed, though D'Agostino has said that Marks & Spencer, which owns Kings, has made unreasonable demands.

John Catsimatidis, CEO of Gristedes, has repeatedly said that if the Kings-D’Agostino deal falls through, he is prepared to reopen negotiations to buy the chain.
