A “shortcut to weight loss,” for many the promised land of nutrition, can be found in foods that speed up the metabolism, reports the November 2002 edition of Men’s Health. These foods include:

• Milk, whole-grain cereal, and oatmeal.
• Jalapeno, habanero, and cayenne peppers
• Green tea and coffee
• Lean beef, pork, and turkey
• Salmon, tuna and sardines.

On page 108, Men’s Health provides brief, understandable descriptions of how these fat burning foods work, information that can easily be imparted to a supermarket consumer.

And, the last time we checked, all of these foods are available for sale in virtually every supermarket.
