The Food Institute reports that:
•The price of” food at home” during September was up 0.2 percent from a month earlier, and up 0.5 percent from September 2001.
•The cost of “food at home” for the first nine months of 2002 was 1.6 percent higher than during the same period of 2001.
• Sales at grocery stores were down 1.4% to $34.5 billion during September, compared to as month earlier, and up 2.1 percent for the first nine months of the year as compared to a year earlier.
