Pathmark Supermarkets announced that it will use NeXpansion’s “Endless Aisle” technology, beginning in November 2002.

The NeXpansion technology allows retailers to offer a broader variety of SKU’s than ordinarily can be carried in a brick-and-mortar store. Consumers will be able to access it on, or via in-store kiosks.

We’ve been fans of this concept since it first was announced, and believe that it is an ideal use of the Internet. It is smart for traditional brick-and-mortar retailers who use it, and is equally smart for NetGrocer, which has cannily expanded its business model to offer new services to retailers looking for ways to differentiate themselves.
