• The St. Louis Cardinals beat up on Randy Johnson and the Arizona Diamondbacks, winning by the score of 12-2.
• The New York Yankees defeated the Anaheim Angels 8-5.
• And, the Minnesota Twins defeated the Oakland Athletics 7-5.
(Meaning, we believe, that two of the three California teams in the playoffs already are down a game. But there’s plenty of baseball left to play…so let’s see how the San Francisco Giants and Barry Bonds do today.)
